Library Projects

To inculcate the participation of the student and faculty members in development process of the library, there are four library projects designed. Those student and faculty members wish to join team in the following projects, may please contact to the librarian at any time.

Digital Library Project
The Central Library is planning to install Dspace "Digital Library software package" for managing the Full Text resources i.e. Projects, Articles, Uni. Papers, Dissertations etc. The Digital Library consists of modules on acquisition, cataloguing of pojects, thesis, articles etc. The software is run on the plateform of Linux - Redhat / Fedora, students who posses the knowledge of Linux - Redhat / Fedora may contact to the librarian to join this project.

Library Website Design and Development
The Library website (www.kiet.edu/library/) has been designed by the library. It was a major step to extend online library services and providing the interface to our e-journals, databases and resources. Students who knows the web designing may contact for mainantaince and further developments in the website.

RAMLIB ( The Library Managemant Software)
The Library Managemant Software Ramlib isdeveloped in house by A Team of KIET Faculty / Students) under Ram Computer Solutions Inc. KIET. The Library uses Ramlib software package which is an integrated multi-user library management system that supports all in-house operations of the Library. The Ramlib consists of modules on acquisition, circulation, serials, article indexing and OPAC. Retrospective conversion of bibliographic records has been completed and 35,000 bibliographic records of books available in the Library, can now be accessed through the OPAC. The Ramlib is now under development of the 2nd version for improvement.

Library Server Management
The Library uses Ramlib software package which is installed in the server exiting in the computer lab. Students who knows the linux based operations i.e. installation of linux, and to manage the overall task related may contact to librarian.
