Dr. J. Girish obtained his Doctoral degree in Civil Engineering with specialization in Structural Engineering from IIT Kharagpur (in 2005), the premier Technological Institute in the country. He has adorned various coveted positions before becoming Professor & Head of Civil Engineering, KIET School of Engineering & Technology. He has 19 years of industrial, teaching and research experience in various positions starting from Design Engineer, Senior Design Engineer (Auroservice D’Auroville, Pondicherry), Lecturer (VIT, Vellore), Assistant Professor, Professor & Head of the Department, TEQIP coordinator (Bapatla Engineering College, Bapatla). From 2009 to 2012 served as a Director of Engineering Institutions (Bapatla Women’s Engineering College, Bapatla, Bhimavaram Institute of Engineering & Technology, Bhimavaram and Gyan Ganga Institute of Technology & Sciences, Jabalpur).

He has received best teacher award in the year 1999 at VIT, Vellore.

Dr. Girish’s outstanding research credentials have earned him wide acclaim in the form of reviewer, citations, and lecture invitations at BAARC, NSTL (DRDO-Ministry of Defence) and conferences. His research contributions have appeared in several peer reviewed International

Journals and Conference proceedings. In particular, he has earned a sterling international reputation for his research and education in applied and computational mechanics (especially, buckling and postbuckling of composite plates and shells under thermo-mechanical loads). He has reviewed several articles in the reputed journals and books. The extent of Dr. Girish’s original and sustained contributions to education, research, and professional service is substantial.
