Dr. Gajendra Singh did his B.E. in Electrical Engineering from
University of Roorkee (now IIT, Roorkee) in 1976. He has done his M.Tech from IIT, Kharagpur and Ph.D. from IIT Delhi. He has also graduated in Aeronautical
Engineering form Air Force Technical College, Bangalore. He had an illustrious
career in Indian Air Force spanning over 28 years as an Engineering officer in
the field of aviation. While serving in Air Force, he was honoured with
Vishisht Seva Medal by President of India for his outstanding performance.
He joined KIET in Aug’2004 as HoD in the Deptt of Electrical &
Electronics Engg. Since then, this department has been accredited twice by
National Board of Accreditation. An excellent research environment has been
created in the deptt. During last few years, 16 faculty members pursued their
Ph.D. programmes where-in 4 have already been awarded the Degrees.
He also holds the
appointment of the Additional Director of the Institute since Aug’2007. As Additional
Director, he has successfully maintained an excellent rapport with the students
as well as faculty & staff so as to keep their motivation level high. He
has published number of research papers
in International Journals and also
presented many technical papers in International conferences. His areas of
research interest are Switchgear & Protection, Solar Thermal, Photo Voltaics
and Industrial motors.
