How to create your own Site

• Get a Kiet.edu ID
  Of course the first thing is to get an ID. Contact the Webadmin for this. If you already have one its ok.
• Make your site
  Make a site of your own which must at least include a file named index.html.
• Upload your site
  1. Open Internet Explorer (you already have this one open)
  2. Click: ftp://kiet.edu/ (or type it in the address bar)
  3. Click: File > Login as (and login with your ID and password)
  4. Now your home directory is open; open the 'public_html' directory in it.
  5. Drag and drop files you created for your site.
• Modifying Your Site
  Repeat the above step if you want to modify your site.
• Please remember
  Dont delete files in your home directory that you have not uploaded. These may be required for the proper functioning of your account (email etc).
• How to add a guestbook
  If you have made your site and you want to add a guest book, we have a feature called FormMail for you. With this anything submitted into your guestbook will be mailed to you.
  1. Make a Guestbook form of any type and for that form.
  2. Set the method="POST"
  3. Set the action="http://www.kiet.edu/cgi-bin/fmail.pl"
  4. If you want your own 'thank-you' page then set action="http://www.kiet.edu/cgi-bin/fmail.pl?full-address-to-your-thank-you-page"
