Established in 1998, KIET Deemed to be University has built a strong legacy of academic excellence, integrity, and societal responsibility. Over the past 27+ years, the institution has steadily evolved, focusing on delivering skill-oriented and professionally relevant education, supporting students in building strong academic and career pathways.

The University upholds high academic standards, reflected in itsNAAC A+ accreditation, NBA accreditation for all eligible programmes, and consistent recognition in NIRF and IIRF rankings, along with the QS I-Gauge Diamond Rating. In recognition of its academic maturity and governance framework, KIET was granted Autonomous Status in 2024 and subsequently conferred Deemed to be University status under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, in November 2025.

Today, KIET nurtures a vibrant academic community of 10,000+ students across Engineering, Computer Applications, Management, Pharmacy, and allied professional disciplines. The University is supported by a strong global alumni network of 26,000+ professionals, contributing across diverse sectors in India and abroad.

The University houses a robust network of Centres of Excellence and industry-linked academies, including collaborations with AWS, CISCO, and Palo Alto, which support advanced learning, research, and innovation. Key centres include the Supercomputing Centre of Excellence, Centre for Space Technologies, Advanced Woodworking Centre, Centre for Drone Technologies, Herbal Product Development Centre, Centre for E-Mobility Solutions, Wipro Centre of Excellence in Cyber Security, Centre for Automotive Mechatronics, and the Centre for Advanced VLSI Design.

Innovation and entrepreneurship form an integral part of KIET’s academic ecosystem. Through TBI-KIET, the University has incubated 240+ startups, fostering research, innovation, and enterprise development, and enabling students and faculty to translate ideas into practical and scalable solutions.

KIET’s strong industry engagement is reflected in its consistent placement performance. More than 2,100+ recruiters have visited the campus since its inception, offering diverse career opportunities. The University has also achieved a significant milestone with international placements reaching ₹1.78 crore, the highest secured by a KIETian till date.

Beyond academics and careers, KIET actively promotes social responsibility and community engagement. Through initiatives led by NSS, NCC, and Uddeshya NGO, students participate in outreach programmes, awareness drives, and service activities that contribute to societal development and responsible citizenship.
