The Office of the Director (Academics) at KIET serves as the strategic hub for academic leadership, policy-making, curriculum planning, innovation, and quality assurance. As an autonomous institution, affiliated with AKTU and accredited by NAAC (A+) and NBA, KIET is committed to fostering a robust academic ecosystem that is outcome-based, skill-enriched, and industry-aligned.

Core Functions
- Academic Policy & Framework
Formulates academic regulations, strategic guidelines, and quality standards aligned with NEP and regulatory bodies. - Curriculum Design & BoS (Board of Studies)
Designs and periodically updates curricula through structured departmental and institutional academic bodies. - Teaching-Learning via Learning Management System (Moodle); Enterprise Resource Planning (KIET ERP & Cyber Vidya)
Enables efficient content delivery, attendance tracking, assessments, and learning progress monitoring through integrated digital platforms. - Assessment & Examinations
Conducts continuous internal assessments and end-semester examinations with transparency, rigor, and academic integrity. - Result Analysis & Monitoring
Analyzes academic performance data to drive informed interventions and enhance student learning outcomes. - Feedback & Academic Audit
Gathers structured feedback from stakeholders and conducts internal academic audits to ensure continuous quality improvement. - Policy Reforms & Academic Council
Drives academic innovation through data-driven policy reforms and governance via the Academic Council and its associated bodies.

Academic Quality and Standards
As an institution, we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic excellence by aligning our practices with National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and adopting a student-centric, flexible, and industry-integrated academic framework. To ensure relevance and rigor, our curriculum is regularly updated through active consultation with industry experts, academicians, and alumni. The institution offers a broad spectrum of industry-oriented courses that integrate design thinking, innovation, and entrepreneurship as core components across disciplines. These efforts are further enriched through guest lectures, workshops, and mentorship from renowned industry professionals, giving students direct exposure to current industrial practices and problem-solving approaches.
Our flexible academic structure supports the introduction of Minor and Honours Degrees, enabling students to specialize or diversify their academic portfolio. We promote interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary learning, allowing students to take courses across departments and domains, fostering a more holistic educational experience.
The institution has also embraced the Multiple Entry and Multiple Exit model as envisaged under NEP 2020, offering students academic mobility and recognition through certifications, diplomas, or degree awards based on their cumulative credits at various stages. This flexibility empowers students to learn at their own pace while pursuing personal and professional goals.
To uphold academic standards, continuous internal and external quality checks are embedded through robust curriculum review committees, academic audits, and feedback mechanisms.
