The Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Space Technologies is a flagship initiative of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at KIET (Deemed to be University), Ghaziabad. The centre has been established with the objective of fostering academic excellence, advanced research, and technological innovation in the domains of satellite communication, remote sensing, and space systems engineering.
This Centre was inaugurated on 22th February 2020 and serves as a dedicated platform for students and researchers to explore emerging developments in space science and engineering.
A significant milestone in the Centre’s journey is the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with the Space Applications Centre, Ahmedabad, a premier research centre of the Indian Space Research Organisation. This collaboration enables academic exchange, technical training, and research exposure in advanced space technologies.
The Centre also functions as a Nodal Centre of the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), Dehradun, allowing students to participate in specialized certification programs offered by ISRO. Through this platform, students gain access to national-level training programs, expert lectures, and cutting-edge space technology courses.
Further strengthening its academic outreach, the Centre is actively participating in the ISRO Space Science and Technology Awareness Training (START) Programme 2026, an initiative designed to provide students with exposure to modern space technologies, satellite systems, and Earth observation applications.

Online Certification Program by IIRS as Nodal Centre :-
The CoE regularly facilitates specialized online certification courses in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing and the Indian Space Research Organisation. So far, more than 500 students have benefited from these programs conducted through the IIRS Nodal Centre at KIET.
Boot Camps & Hands-on Training :-
The Centre of Excellence for Space Technologies is committed to organizing intensive technical boot camps and hands-on training sessions in the domain of space science and satellite technologies. These programs are designed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical implementation, enabling students to develop strong technical competencies.
