Course Description

Since 1998, the Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) Department at KIET has been a preferred destination for students aspiring to build careers in technology. With an annual intake of 300 students, the department aligns its academic offerings with industry needs to prepare future-ready tech professionals.

Learning at KIET CSE goes far beyond traditional classroom teaching. Students gain hands-on experience through modern labs, coding zones, innovation spaces, and digital learning resources. They also engage in real-world IoT projects, develop design thinking approaches, and strengthen their capabilities in full-stack development. Over the years, students have consistently secured top university ranks and contributed through impactful research and innovative solutions.

The department is supported by a strong Centre of Excellence that keeps learners updated with advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Cloud Computing, and emerging technologies. Program Outcomes

  • Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
  • Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
  • Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
  • Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
  • Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
  • The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.

Dean's Message

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering is accredited by NBA Up to June 2027. The Department executes 4 years B.Tech. and 2 years M. Tech Course. The department is committed to providing our students with the knowledge, skills, and mindset required to navigate the constantly evolving world of technology. We offer an extensive curriculum that covers a broad range of technologies, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience. Our esteemed faculty members are experts in their respective fields and their guidance and mentorship aim to foster student’s intellectual, curiosity and ignite their creativity.

We strongly believe in the effectiveness of hands-on learning, which is why our department provides cutting-edge labs and facilities where students can apply theoretical concepts to practical scenarios. We encourage active involvement in research projects, internships, and industry collaborations to acquire valuable experience and stay ahead in this dynamic field.
