A National Webinar on “Advancement cum Challenges in Pharmacovigilance: Regulatory and Clinical Perspectives” was organised by KIET School of Pharmacy on 28-April-2023.

KIET Group of Institutions has Organized a National Webinar on “Advancement cum Challenges in Pharmacovigilance: Regulatory and Clinical Perspectives” on 28-04-2023.

The programme commenced with the welcoming of Prof. (Dr.) Amik Garg, Director, KIET Group of Institutions (In-absentia), Dr. Manoj Goel, Joint Director, KIET Groupof Institutions (In-absentia), Prof. (Dr). K. Nagarajan -Principal, KSOP and Associate Dean R&D, Dr. N.G. Raghvendra Rao -Additional Head KSOP, Dr. V. Kalaiselvan, Principal Senior Scientific Officer, IPC, Ghaziabad and Mr. Amit Kamboj, Assistant Manager, Corporate Affairs, Emcure Pharmaceuticals Ltd., New Delhi all faculty members and student participants from various Institute, Industry, University by Prof. (Dr.) Roma Ghai.

Prof. (Dr.) Roma Ghai gave a warm welcome and gave a quick overview of pharmacovigilance and its components. She also introduced both the speakers to the audience.

In his subsequent speech, Dr. V. Kalaiselvan provided in-depth analysis of numerous viewpoints on the pharmacovigilance of Medical Devices and Materiovigilance. He has also discussed the steps made by the PvPI to improve reporting and responsiveness to doctors, pharmacists, nursing staffs, and patients by establishing an ADR monitoring centre (AMC).
He provided the dataset for the previous 10 years with an emphasis on the Individual Case Safety Report (ICSR) filing. Mr. Amit Kamboj focused on the ICSR filing and important factors throughout the process. He emphasized the job opportunities in clinical data management and pharmacovigilance.
They meticulously shared their extensive knowledge and technical proficiency in the realm of pharmacovigilance and related topics like regulatory processes and clinical factors in their discussion. An interactive Q&A session was held after the presentation to address any remaining questions.

Around 175 participants (faculty and student across the India) have attended the National Webinar in online mode.The session was formally ended by giving a Vote of Thanks to the Speaker, Chief Patron, Patron, Convener, Co-convener, other dignitaries, faculty, and student participants by Dr. N.G.R. Rao.The event was well organized by Dr. Roma Ghai, Dr. Shardendu Kumar Mishra, Mr.Praveen K. Dixit under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) K. Nagarajan.
