One Day Industrial Visit to Hamdard Laboratories, Ghaziabad on 10th May 2025

Participants: B. Pharm 8th Semester Students

Objective of the Visit: The visit was conducted in 2 slots. The primary objective of this industrial visit was to provide students practical exposure to pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, quality control measures, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) implemented at Hamdard Laboratories.

The students were welcomed by the management team at Hamdard Laboratories. The visit began with an introductory presentation about the history, mission, and products of Hamdard Laboratories, highlighting their specialization in Unani medicines and herbal formulations.

Students were divided into smaller groups and guided through various departments, including:

• Raw Material Section: Detailed explanation of raw material sourcing, handling, and storage.
• Production Unit: Practical exposure to processes such as extraction, formulation, mixing, granulation, tablet compression, coating, and packaging.
• Quality Control Department: Insight into analytical testing, microbial testing, and stability studies to maintain product quality.
• Research and Development Lab: Overview of ongoing research projects and formulation development techniques.

Students actively engaged by asking questions about regulatory requirements, safety standards, and operational challenges.

Learning Outcomes:
• Gained practical insights into the entire pharmaceutical manufacturing process.
• Enhanced understanding of GMP guidelines and quality assurance protocols.
• Learned about the latest analytical techniques and equipment used in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Developed awareness regarding industry standards, regulatory compliance, and professional ethics in pharmaceutical practices.

Conclusion: The industrial visit to Hamdard Laboratories was highly beneficial, bridging the gap between theoretical learning and practical application. The students appreciated the valuable exposure and expressed interest in future opportunities to interact closely with industry experts.
