Five Days Internal Training Programme on “Teaching Pedagogy and Modern Usage of ICT tools in Teaching -Learning Process” from 21st July 2025 to 25th July 2025
KIET School of Pharmacy successfully conducted a Five-Day Internal Training Programme focusing on enhancing faculty members' skills in teaching pedagogy and the integration of ICT and AI tools to improve teaching effectiveness and student engagement. The sessions were conducted online and led by the expert resource persons, Prof. (Dr.) K. Nagarajan-Principal- KSOP and Dr. Praveen Kumar Dixit-Associate Professor and Asst. Head Dept. Skill Development Cell.
This programme aimed to align faculty teaching practices with innovative pedagogical methods and modern technology trends to elevate the academic learning environment.
Topic: Basics of Teaching Pedagogy and its Types
The first day of the training began with a comprehensive introduction to teaching pedagogy, its foundational principles, and its various types. Prof. (Dr.) Nagarajan has discussed about the importance of teaching pedagogy and Dr. Dixit elaborated on learner-centered, teacher-centered, and constructivist pedagogies, emphasizing their practical applications in higher education. The session laid a strong conceptual foundation for the following days.
Topic: Making Effective Lesson Plan, Session Plan, and Rubrics
On the second day, participants were guided through the essential components of an effective lesson plan and session plan. The session also introduced the concept of assessment rubrics and their importance in ensuring transparent and objective student evaluation. Faculty members engaged in hands-on exercises to draft lesson plans tailored to their respective subjects.
Topic: Training on Rubrics Formation and Lesson/Session Plan
The third day focused on deeper practical training in the design and formation of rubrics. Participants worked collaboratively to refine their previously developed lesson and session plans. Dr. Dixit provided personalized feedback, ensuring participants could critically evaluate and improve their instructional designs.
Topic: Use of AI Tools in Pharmacy Education
This session introduced faculty to the role of Artificial Intelligence in education, with a specific focus on Pharmacy Education. Various AI tools were demonstrated, including virtual labs, simulation software, and AI-driven assessment tools. Dr. Dixit highlighted how these tools can enhance student engagement, support personalized learning, and improve knowledge retention.
Topic: Implementing Various Types of ICT Tools for Making Class More Interactive and NEP- 2020
The final day of the training focused on practical implementation of ICT tools such as Google Classroom, Kahoot, Mentimeter, Padlet, and others to make classroom sessions more interactive and participative. Participants explored strategies for integrating these tools into their regular teaching routines to foster active learning.
