Our Infrastructure


CAD Lab of Civil department was established for design concept and product realization. This lab is to primarily facilitate students to evolve concepts and convert it into a complete product. Department covers STAAD-PRO, ANSYS, SAP, Etabs ( Structure analysis and design software), PLAXIS ( Geotechnical software for analyzing and designing foundations), Water Gems, Sewer Gems covering water supply and sewerage systems. It also covers working on Project Planning and Management software’s like Primavera & MS Project. Latest versions to make our students well versed with analysis and design of structures and also include managerial skills too. Department also covers MX Road for geometric and structural design of roads apart from GIS related software etc.


The primary objective of this lab is to assess the pollutants of water and air. Assess noise level Monitor level and types of air pollutant and water pollutant This lab is continuously upgraded with the latest environmental equipments. Students can perform various experiments on water, noise and air by calculating the pollution load, BOD, COD etc. The Lab contains all the latest equipments like BOD TESTING MACHINE, MULTIPARAMETER TESTING MACHINE, and TURBIDIMETER etc.


Geotechnical lab is well equipped to perform all the necessary basic characterization of soils with several advanced testing facilities. The vision of this division is to utilize the state-of-the art knowledge for solving problems related to subsurface. The subsurface includes soil and rock. A typical geotechnical engineering laboratory helps in identifying the engineering performance of soils. There are different physical, chemical and geotechnical properties determined in the laboratory that is required for identifying the soils. This information is used by geotechnical engineer for designing foundations, earthworks such as dams, embankments, tunnels, reservoirs, pavement subgrades, and specialized applications like waste containment systems. The precision of these design is entirely depend on the experimental information obtained from a geotechnical laboratory. Therefore, geotechnical engineering laboratory has a vast role to play in interpretation of the subsurface a safe and stable load bearing medium. Labs has following equipments to perform different test  Sieves- to peform sieve analysis  Pycnometer- to perform specific gravity test  Casagrande’s Apparatus- to perform liquid limit test  Direct shear test apparatus- to perform strength test  Permeability test apparatus- to perform permeability  Consolidometer- to perform consolidation test  Standard Procter – to perform moisture content and dry density  Core cutter ETC.

Fluid mechanics and HHM lab

This lab has basic fluid mechanics set-up. The lab is equipped with different flow measuring set-ups such as venturimeter, orifice-plate, pitot tube, rotometer etc., where students can visualize the basic theory of working of the flow meter. The lab also has reynolds’s setup, free-forced vortices setup, flow over open channel and impact of jet set-up, where students can fortify their theoretical knowledge. Hydraulics engineering is concerned with the flow and conveyance of fluids, principally water. Hydraulic engineering is the application of fluid mechanics principles to problems dealing with the collection, storage, control, transport, regulation, measurement, and use of water. Application of hydraulics engineering includes fluid mechanics, fluid flow, behaviour of real fluids, hydrology, pipelines, open channel hydraulics, mechanics of sediment transport, physical modeling, hydraulic machines, and drainage hydraulics.


Concrete has been the most common building material for many years. It is expected to remain so in the coming decades. Concrete Technology lab is well equipped with the state of art equipments. Concrete Technology laboratory deals with: • Testing of Bricks • Testing of ingredients of Concrete Cement Fine Aggregate Coarse Aggregate • Test on Fresh Concrete (Workability in terms of Slump and Compaction Factor) • Test on Hardened Concrete(Compressive and Flexural Strength) • Non Destructive Testing of Hardened Concrete Rebound Hammer Ultra Sonic Pulse Velocity (PUNDIT)


Our Surveying Laboratory contains measuring instruments for distance, vertical and horizontal angles, and elevation. It is also used for performing leveling surveys and transverse surveys, and for applying corrections to geodetic observations. The major equipment in our laboratory includes: • Chain, • Tape, • Vernier Theodolites, • Electronic Theodolites, • Automatic Level, • Plane Table And Its Accessories, • Ranging Rod, Ranging Staff, Plumb Bob, Pegs, tripods and other accessories.

Geo-informatics Laboratory

Our Geo-informatics Laboratory contains advanced electronic distance, vertical & horizontal angles, and elevation measuring instruments. It is also used for performing measurements and interpretation of photographs and satellite images to extract information for decision making. The major instruments in our laboratory include: • Total Station, • Hand held GPS, • Ranging Rod, Ranging Staff, Plumb Bob, Pegs, tripods and other accessories, • Mirror stereoscopes.

Transportation Engineering Laboratory

The Transportation Engineering Laboratory has a well equipped laboratory related to highway material testing. The List of some of the experiments that can be conducted in the transportation engineering laboratory are given below. Aggregate Test . Crushing Test . Impact Test . Los Angeles Abrasion Test . Flakiness and Elongation Index Test Bitumen Tests . Penetration Test . Softening Test . Viscosity Test . Flash and Fire Point Test . Ductility Test . Stripping Test

Structural analysis Laboratory

The Structural analysis Laboratory has a well equipped laboratory related to analyze the behavior of structural members under different loading conditions. The List of some of the apparatus which are being used for conducting experiments in the Structural analysis laboratory are given below: 1. Elastic properties of deflected beam apparatus. 2. Elastically coupled beam apparatus . 3. Apparatus for verification of Clarks Maxwell reciprocal theorem. 4. Two hinged arch apparatus. 5. Curved member apparatus. 6. Redundant joint apparatus. 7. Unsymmetrical bending apparatus. 8. Three hinged arch apparatus. 9. Column and Strut apparatus.
