Centre of Excellence of Central Instrumentation Facility (C.I.F.) Laboratory:

The Centre of Excellence of CIF Laboratory encompasses highly sophisticated instruments like HPLC Binary gradient Pump and Single isocratic Pump with Variable wavelength UV-Visible Detector including Empower QS Software (Waters), Fourier Transformation IR Spectrophotometer (Shimadzu FT-IR Affinity-1), UV-Visible Spectrophotometer (Shimadzu-1900i, 1800, 1700), Semi Auto Analyzer (Chemtouch ERBA), Gas Chromatographic System (Shimadzu GC-2010 plus), Atomic Absorption Spectrometer (AAS -Motras), Digital Filter Fluorimeter (Biogen), Digital High Precision Analytical balance-1mg, 10mg sensitivity (Shimadzu, Mettler Toledo), Rheometer (Brook Field), Deep freezer (-550 c), Gel electrophoresis Assembly (Gene i), Paper Electrophoresis Assembly (Gene i), Digital Colorimeter (Biogen), Microprocessor controlled pH meter & Conductivity meter (Decibel), Digital Nepheloturbidimeter, etc.

Some of the projects carried out in C.I.F Laboratory were summarized below:

  • Analytical method development & Validation of active pharmaceutical ingredients from bulk drugs & dosage forms
  • Analytical method development for new drugs and small chemical entities.
  • Activity guided isolation of chemical constituents using Column chromatography and further characterization from indigenous medicinal plants using various spectroscopic techniques such as IR, NMR and MS.
  • Physico-chemical characterization of Functional group of drug molecules and Drug interaction studies involving polymers and other drugs using FT-IR spectral analysis.
  • Analysis of various biochemical parameters such as SGOT, SGPT, ALP, Glucose, Total Protein, Creatinine, Bilirubin, cholesterol in drug samples, environmental samples and body fluids (Blood and Urine) using Semi-auto analyser.
  • Accurate identification of melting point in drug samples & synthesized moieties using Digital Stanford Research System (SRS) Melting point apparatus.
  • Assay of various drugs and their excipients using various techniques viz., UV spectrophotometry, Fluorimetry and Nepheloturbidimetry.
  • Multicomponent drug analysis using HPLC and UV-Visible spectrometry.
  • Analysis of Lipophilic and Hydrophilic drugs using HPLC.
  • Analysis of Volatile and Semi-volatile components from Synthetic Drugs and Plant constituents using Gas Chromatography technique.
  • Metal Elemental analysis of Na, K, Se, Ni, Pb, Cd, As, Sb from phyto samples and synthetic samples by Atomic Absorption spectrometer (AAS).

Modular Pharmacology Laboratory including Centre of excellence in Tuberculosis Facility encompasses highly sophisticated instruments like Neuro Behavioural Tracking System (VJ Instruments), Cell Analyser Fully automatic (Quick Lab), Fluorescence Microscope (Weswox), Stereotaxis Apparatus (SGLM 18DEG), Franz Diffusion Cell, ELISA Plate reader (Micro Lab), Non-Invasive Blood Pressure (NIBP)Apparatus (Biopac AD Instruments), Automatic organ bath, Western Blotting System with Del Documentation system including Normal PCR (Biorad, UK), Monowave synthesizer (Anton Paar India), Digital Plethysmometer, Cooling Centrifuge Machine (J.K Scientific), Deep Freezer (U-Tech Make), Freeze dryer (U-Tech Make), Micro centrifuge with angle Rotator (Weswox), Fermenter Lab Scale (Fermex), Versa Trek Automated microbial detection System (Thermo Fischer Scientific, USA), Biological safety cabinet ( Optics BSL-2), etc.

  • AI Integrated Molecular Docking Strategy for Predicting Anti-Tubercular Peptidomimetics against DprE-1 using In-vitro, In-vivo model & it’s reasonable Clinical Potency.
  • Docking Cum AI Approach, Synthesis and Biological Evaluation of Anti-Mycobacterial Peptide Based Scaffolds Against Target Glcnac-1-P Transferase Using Versa Trek Automated Microbial Detection System with Clinical Dose Correlation
  • Investigating the neuroprotective potential of herbal formulation in scopolamine induced amnesia" using Neuro Behavioural Tracking System.
  • Exploration of neuroprotective potential of endocannabinoid receptor agonist anandamide against intracerebroventricular (ICV) Lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced neurobehavioral anomalies (Stereotaxic apparatus was used in ICV injection)
  • Analysis of Complete blood count (CBC) that includes estimation of RBC count, Hb, platelets, TLC, neutrophils, eosinophils, basophils, lymphocytes using Cell Analyzer while doing the project on “Investigation of anti-hemorrhoidal potential of the herbal extracts in Wistar rats.
  • Evaluation of anti-inflammatory activity of herbal extracts/ phytoconstituent-based formulation against FCA induced Rheumatoid Arthritis with the help of Digital Plethysmometer.
  • Estimation of cytokines like TNF-?, IL-6, IL-1, anti-oxidant parameters like GSH, anti-diabetic biomarkers like estimation of Insulin by ELISA in various metabolic research and anti-inflammatory studies.
  • Use of Cooling centrifuge for separation of serum from the blood for estimation of liver, kidney biomarkers.
  • In-vivo evaluation of herbal extract in the treatment of Cardiomyopathy (Non-Invasive blood pressure equipment was used for estimating the blood pressure, heart rate and electrophysiological changes)
  • Visualization of pathological changes in the tissues of diseased group and treated groups animals using Fluorescence microscope like evaluation of anticancer activity by studying pathological changes in diseased and treated cells in skin carcinoma.  
  • DNA, RNA and protein estimation using Western Blot with Gel documentation.
  • Conduction of bioassays in isolated tissues using Automatic organ bath.

Molecular Pharmaceutics Laboratory including Centre of excellence in Krismatic Natural Product Development & Training Centre are specialized research and training facilities devoted to the scientific comprehension and use of novel drug delivery systems, dosage form design, and the creation of novel medications and formulations, especially those originating from natural sources respectively. Molecular Pharmaceutics Laboratory including Centre of excellence in Krismatic Natural Product Development & Training Centre encompasses sophisticated instruments like Fluidised Bed Processor (Cronimach), Nanosizer (Probe Sonicator MTS 750 Digital), Tablet Dissolution test apparatus multi-station (Lab India), All Purpose Instrument (Orchid Scientific), Automatic Tablet Compression Machine (Mini Proton Engineers), Tablet Punching Machine (Multi tooling) (Cronimach), Tensile Strength Tester, Tray Dryer, Sonicator, Rheometer (Brook field), supporting facility for equipment filling, labelling and packaging, Franz diffusion cell apparatus etc.

Molecular Pharmaceutics Laboratory is to bridge the gap between basic science and practical drug development, providing a molecular basis for designing better and more effective medicines. The research facility focuses on advanced scientific investigations. The key features of a research lab equipped for the formulation and evaluation of various dosage forms like conventional dosage forms (tablets, capsules etc.) as well as novel drug delivery systems (nanoparticles, and other nano based pharmaceutical products), helps to understand the formulation science and release patterns of developed drug delivery systems. The molecular pharmaceutics research facility mainly focuses on research and development:

  • Research on Novel compounds: Make an investment in studies to find and describe novel and potent herbal compounds for use in cosmetic products.
  • Sustainable purchasing: Give ethical and ecologically conscious methods first priority when purchasing raw materials.
  • Product Innovation: Create novel nano-formulations or targeted delivery systems with distinctive features and compositions.
  • Cooperation: To promote innovation and information sharing, cooperate with academic institutions and research centers.

The centre of Excellence (COE) in Krismatic Natural Product Development & Training Centre aims to foster innovation, research, and skill development in the field of natural product development, potentially involving collaborations between research institutions, industry partners, and training centers. The various key aspects of the facilities are:

  • Natural product focus: The centre focuses on the development and research of products derived from natural sources, aligning with the specialization of Krismatic Naturals. 
  • Training and skill development: The COE offers training components to equip individuals with the necessary skills for research, development, and potentially, commercialization of natural products. 
  • Potential for collaboration: The centre likely involves partnerships between research institutions, industries, and training centers, creating a comprehensive ecosystem for natural product innovation. 
  • Innovation and research: It aims to promote innovation in natural product development and conduct research in related fields. 
  • Potential for commercialization: The COE also involve efforts to translate research findings into viable business proposals or solutions. 

The Centre of Excellence in Krismatic Natural Product Development & Training Center is essentially a platform created to promote the development of natural products through targeted research, training, and possible commercialization initiatives, possibly utilizing partnerships and knowledge from different organizations and sectors.

  • Formulation, in-vitro and in-vivo evaluation of microspheres using combined herb therapy for the management of Poly cystic ovarian disorder.
  • Formulation, in-vitro evaluation and assessment of therapeutic potential of topical nanoemulgel formulation using herbal bioactives for arthritis management.
  • Formulation, characterization and therapeutic assessment of polyherbal nanoemulsion formulation against neurodegenerative disorder.
  • Identification, structural elucidation and biological assessment of novel anti-hypertensive compound from water melon seeds.
  • In-vitro and in-vivo assessmentof novel nutraceutical (Industry-collaboration project).
